Giving Back

Scholars Hope is an organization that helps kids who otherwise could be forgotten. There is a small pocket of area in the center of Huntington Beach that people don't like to talk about. The people there are underprivileged and many look to gang life as a solution. Scholars hope works with the children of this community. helping them with their school studies and encouraging learning and higher education as a way out. Their program has a 100% high school graduation rate and a 97% college graduation rate. It is important that we as a people continue to provide options and support for the children in need so we can break the cycle and give everyone a chance to succeed.

Waggin Trails dog rescue is near & dear to my heart because I am a huge believer in rescue dogs! I have adopted rescues now for over 15 years and grew up with German Shepard rescue dogs. They are the most loving & loyal pups. Every day you can find me taking time to play with my rescues. They are my heart and soul and I could not imagine life without them. Adopting a rescue dog saves a life & fills your heart and theirs with everlasting love.

The Alzheimer's Association is important to me first socially but also personally. here are some staggering facts. 5.7 million Americans have Alzheimer, by the year 2050 that figure is projected to rise to 14 million. 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 dies of Alzheimer. That's more then breast & prostate cancer combined. Having read that I'm sure everyone has someone in their life this effected. For me it was my grandfather and my best friends father. Watching these once vibrant men loose their personalities and ability to function was heartbreaking, when you add on the strain and hardship the caregivers go through sometimes for 10 plus years my only response is action. We MUST take steps to decrease the occurrence of this horrible disease.
